During the production of biogas a part of the produced gas is used to produce new steam for the process. With a pellet fired steam boiler, you can use that biogas for something else.
Examples of such a project is a thermal hydrolysis process with steam-bursting for upgrading the digestion process at Sundet sewage treatment plants. Their need is to improve the digestion capacity to rot the household waste collected in Växjö. Household waste belongs to category III according to ABP directive and must therefore undergo a sanitation that is currently lacking in the plant.
All the biogas will go to upgrading vehicle fuel, which means that biogas can not be used for steam production. Cambi therefore provides a pellets fueled boiler so that the energy used is renewable. Armatec has made a complete supply, with overall construction, including feed water treatment boiler, water boiler, maximum pressure of 18 bar, 1 ton steam/hour.
